Unilorin Trains Students Entrepreneurship Skills on Yoghurt and Soap Making

For every 300 level student of the University of Ilorin it is required to go through a skill training. GSE 301 the course give chance to students to acquire skill of their interest ranging from Cosmetics making to fashion designing, tie and dye amongst others. The sole purpose of the cause is to give chance to student to look beyond the four walls of the classroom and try to break the norm. It is to show how creative their mind and hands can work together.

However, among the section of the GSE 301 Course there is BLOGGING AND DATA ANALYSIS – LIFESHAA was given a privilege and chance to write about two Entrepreneurship skills among the other mainly (Yoghurt and Soap Making)

YOGHURT MAKING

Another interview with one of the students that took the yoghurt making skill showed how helpful the skill acquisition is to his personal development as a person

He said: “Although the major class was held within weeks, we had theoretical and practical classes. We learnt how to make Yoghurt properly and we were also taught how to use our household equipment for startups for instance, for the temperature control we used gas. Generally, the classes were educating and entertaining and I personally can make the Yoghurts that will be edible and safe for consumption.”

 SOAP MAKING

 According to Google Search

Definition of Soap – Soap is simply a product of the reaction between fat and alkali. The alkali mostly used to make soap is sodium hydroxide. Potassium hydroxide can also be used. Soap is of different forms, they are; powder soap, Liquid soap and solid or bar soap.

The Class started properly by January 2019, with the basic aim to develop entrepreneurship skill in student by making soap and quite fortunately within few month of training

majority of the students can make soap and also learnt to package the soap properly so as to put it out in the market and make money out of it through different marketing procedures.

 

 

 

In conclusion, the yoghurt and soap making skills training was very educative and informative and has given chance to students who took the course the ability to make the products and package properly for the market to reach its target audience.
